DESCRIPTION:Join us in the historic Victorian home of KSO founder Bertha Walburn Clark. Bertha Clark laid the foundation for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra when she performed with her string quartet in 1910 at the opening gala of the Atkin Hotel. The KSO held its first official concert on November 24\, 1935. This home was constructed in 1889 and has been lovingly restored by Sean Bolen and homeowner Alison Hardy. It is in the North Knoxville Historic Neighborhood. \nBertha Clark played the violin and viola\, and KSO violist Josh Ulrich will play HER viola for us at this special event! We will also tour the home and learn some history of the area and restoration plans from Sean Bolen. DESCRIPTION:Plan now to experience downtown Knoxville with a progressive dinner for eight people in four beautiful and unique homes throughout the downtown area. We will walk through downtown where four different hosts will prepare and serve a four-course menu with beverage pairings. \nYou will start with appetizers and beverages at the home of Bobby Brown and Todd Richesin. Todd and Bobby’s home in the historic Burwell Building is expertly and creatively decorated. While there you will see some of their extensive artwork collection. This lovely condo also has incredible views of our great city that include the Sunsphere and Monte Le Conte. \nYour next stop will again be in the Historic Burwell Building which was completed in 1907 and originally built and owned by the Knoxville Banking and Trust Company. The Burwell Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. In the home of Jim and Kim Hays\, you will be served the soup/salad course along with beverage pairings. \nFrom here we will take a short walk to the home of Avi and Illana Zenatti in the Rebori Building. This was the former and original home of the Lawson McGhee Public Library. Avi and Illena are the owners of Kopita’s Restaurant on Gay Street. Upon entering this fabulous historic space\, you will be met by our gracious hosts who will take us up to the living space where the delectable smells of a Moroccan meal will certainly captivate your senses. \nAfter enjoying the main course\, we will take one more short walk to your next destination which will be in the lovely home of Tyler Janow and Anthony Wilson. Their beautiful condo is located in the Commerce Building which was originally constructed in 1891 in the Romanesque Revival style.
